Abstract: Inguinal hernia repair represents one of the most common pathologies in the clinical practice of general surgeons. The intraoperative discovery of the appendix within the peritoneal sac of an inguinal hernia is known as Amyand's hernia. It is considered a rare pathology, with an incidence of less than 1%. The diagnosis is usually made intraoperatively, and treatment is determined by the degree of the appendix. This publication reports a clinical case of a patient diagnosed with Amyand's hernia during right inguinal hernioplasty treated with the Lichtenstein technique.
